As I was going through my photos from 2013 to make a 'best of 2013' blog post (coming soon!), I realized I didn't yet blog Sara and Gabe's super sweet wedding from earlier this year! I photographed their wedding before moving to this updated website, and never ended up blogging it. Though I live in Boston, I travel throughout New England (and am always happy to travel anywhere!) pretty often for weddings, and this one was in a beautiful area of New York. Sara and Gabe, their families and friends, and their special day were all so wonderful that I knew I had to share before posting anything else.
I absolutely adored Sara and Gabe and their wedding. Sara got ready in the beautiful old house that her great grandmother owned, that much of her family had lived in at one point or another, including her grandmother. Sara's family is all very close, and her grandmother was very dear to her (something I can relate to!). Her family still eats Sunday dinner at the house each week - and in fact, Gabe proposed to her during one of those Sunday dinners! The house was incredibly beautiful and so rich with history and personality.
Sara and Gabe got married at the bright and beautiful Tappan Reformed Church, where they were married by two ministers - one being Gabe's father! The ceremony was just beautiful and was filled with laughter and happy tears. One of my favorite things about Sara and Gabe is how genuinely sweet and obviously in love they are. You can see the joy on their faces and the tenderness between them so clearly throughout the day.
The reception was held at a beautiful flower farm with a barn, that doesn't normally do weddings. What an incredible venue, though! I ADORE barn weddings! The reception was so down to earth and fun. The food was buffet style, there was square dancing, outdoor games, and even a smores station! I loved the photos I got to take of Sara and Gabe during their portraits. Again, they were just so clearly in love and so happy... ahh, it makes me happy just thinking of it!
Anyway, this wedding was such a joy for me to photograph, and I can't wait to share the photos. I have no doubt that Sara and Gabe have a wonderful future ahead of them :)
