Emily and Matthew, Engagement Session in Downtown Boston
Recently, I got to spend a weekend afternoon walking around Boston with Emily and Matthew. After a couple emails inquiring about photographing their 2014 wedding at the Omni Parker House, I knew I'd love these two!
Emily has moved around the country several times, eventually coming to the Boston Conservatory, where she studied ballet. She now teaches ballet, nannies, and dances professionally! Matthew grew up in Massachusetts, and is very close with his family and childhood friends. He majored in math and loves talking science with his family :)
Emily told me they love walking around the city, people watching in the Public Garden, making yummy fall baked goods, and trying out new restaurants together. From our emails, I knew we'd get along very well!
For their engagement session, we decided to walk around the public garden (amongst many extremely fat squirrels), Newbury Street, and over by the Charles. It was so much fun hanging out with these guys! They're fun, down to earth, and they're always making each other laugh :) We were lucky and managed to catch the last weekend of fall foliage, too! Anyway, it was easy to tell Emily and Matthew are a wonderful fit for each other. I can't wait to photograph their wedding next year!
Jen and Les: Couples shoot at Northeastern University and the Public Gardens in Boston, MA
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of photographing Jen and Les. They've been in Boston since their freshman year at Northeastern, and 6 years later, they're married and moving to California! They wanted to have pictures taken at a few of the places they loved in Boston to commemorate their time here together.
Jen and Les met at Freshman orientation in 2007 before their freshman year of college. They started dating shortly after and have been together ever since. They grew especially close during Thanksgiving breaks-- Les is from Canada and Jen's from CA, so they both stayed on campus during the holiday when most of their friends were gone. They've stuck together through the long distance years where Les was playing baseball, and look back on it with gladness, saying it makes them even more grateful for the time they have with each other now. Jen loves the way Les is always thinking about her happiness and the way they laugh together, and Les loves Jen's cooking ;)
They're both really looking forward to going to LA and "building their empire together" as Jen puts it. Les mentioned he's excited for them to start a family together.
I had such a great time with Jen and Les, and it's so clear hanging out with them that they're great together. There's so much trust, respect, joy, and affection between them. Jen glows around Les, and he's always making her smile! I'm sad they're leaving Boston, but I know their future is bright on the West Coast. Thanks for a great evening, Jen and Les!
