Jen and Brandon - Intimate Boston Wedding at the Museum of Science (and beyond!)

I had the amazing privilege of photographing Jen and Brandon's gorgeous, unique, romantic, intimate wedding on a gorgeous Sunday in June, and it's a day I won't soon forget. Jen and Brandon are two of my close friends, and I was so excited to have the opportunity to photograph their wedding day. Jen and Brandon started off imagining their wedding day as a grand affair in the Boston Public Library, but gradually they realized that they wanted something much more intimate and unique. As much fun as a BPL wedding would be, I'm so glad they chose to plan their day exactly as they did. It was so *them*. I marveled at how the both got to fully enjoy and appreciate their special day, surrounded by their closest friends and family. Wedding days tend to go by in a whirlwind, but I noticed Jen and Brandon both taking it all in, relishing every moment. It couldn't have been a better day. I'm going to warn you now... you're going to hear me say 'beautiful' and similar words about a thousand times, because there isn't any other way to describe it!

A big thanks to my second shooter, Lexi Mire, for coming along with us and taking some beautiful photographs! Can't wait to have you by my side for the rest of my 2014 weddings!

Jen has become passionate about Yoga over the last couple of years, so she started her day off with her best friend, her mom, and her yoga instructor for some 8am yoga at the Ames Hotel, where they were getting ready. It was a beautiful space and a perfect way to start the day. And I was majorly impressed that all 3 of them kept up with no problem through the whole session!

Jen and Brandon got ready in incredible rooms at the Ames Hotel, with gorgeous views, lots of natural light, and nearly all of the wedding guests (since the wedding was only 22 people!). Jen and Brandon got their parents and bridal party incredible, thoughtful gifts. It was so much fun watching the looks of surprise on their faces as they opened their gifts from the husband and wife to be!

The ceremony was held outside on the Charles at the Museum of Science. It was so beautiful and peaceful, and their vows were so heart-felt and beautifully written. Jen and Brandon couldn't stop smiling at each other, and their friends and family were back and forth between tears and laughter throughout the ceremony. I kept catching myself thinking that I had no doubt these two were meant for one another.

Lunch was served at the Skyline Room at the Museum of Science, at a single table with breathtaking floral arrangements and a personalized frame with a photo of each guest at their seat. We were treated to a delicious vegan lunch and an amazing vegan wedding cake as well!

After lunch, Jen and Brandon had arranged for a "Boston Adventure"... a surprise for their guests, which ended up being the best Duck Tour ever! We hopped off with Jen and Brandon at the Public Gardens and the rest of the guests finished the Duck Tour while Jen and Brandon had their first dance as a married couple to Jack Johnson's "Better Together" and "Angel". We then headed over to the Public Garden to have a little picnic with some vegan cupcakes Jen brought along with her. It was a fun stop and a perfect day for a picnic! Finally, we hopped on the T to head back to Jen and Brandon's apartment before saying goodnight.

It was a glorious day, filled with so much love and true enjoyment, and I couldn't be happier that I got to share the day with them. Jen and Brandon, you know I adore you both. Here's to your happily ever after!!

Emily and Matthew, Engagement Session in Downtown Boston

Recently, I got to spend a weekend afternoon walking around Boston with Emily and Matthew. After a couple emails inquiring about photographing their 2014 wedding at the Omni Parker House, I knew I'd love these two!

Emily has moved around the country several times, eventually coming to the Boston Conservatory, where she studied ballet. She now teaches ballet, nannies, and dances professionally! Matthew grew up in Massachusetts, and is very close with his family and childhood friends. He majored in math and loves talking science with his family :)

Emily told me they love walking around the city, people watching in the Public Garden, making yummy fall baked goods, and trying out new restaurants together. From our emails, I knew we'd get along very well!

For their engagement session, we decided to walk around the public garden (amongst many extremely fat squirrels), Newbury Street, and over by the Charles. It was so much fun hanging out with these guys! They're fun, down to earth, and they're always making each other laugh :) We were lucky and managed to catch the last weekend of fall foliage, too! Anyway, it was easy to tell Emily and Matthew are a wonderful fit for each other. I can't wait to photograph their wedding next year!
