Joe took this (actually completely candid even though it looks like I'm posing! lol) photo of me while we stopped along the Kancamagus highway on our way home from the White Mountains today. . We drove up here on a complete whim after sharing with you guys about what a tough week/month I'd been having. I'm so grateful and honestly a little bit blown away by all the supportive comments, texts, messages, etc I received. It truly made me remember that I'm so far from alone in this, that I'm so fortunate that these feelings don't cripple me more often, and that even when it feels impossible to leave work to take a break and take care of yourself, sometimes it is 100% necessary. I am so thankful for all of the love, support, and helpful reminders and tips I got from everyone - thank you, thank you, thank you ❤️ . I did a lot of reflecting while we were up there. I normally feel relatively on top of my shit (even if I'm often just keeping up workload wise) - like I know where I'm headed, what I'm doing, what my end game is, and what my deepest values are. The past few weeks have thrown me for a loop and left me feeling confused and directionless (a feeling that I absolutely HATE! If you know me at all, you know I always have a big-picture plan). It has been painful, but it's made me ask myself some good, hard questions. . And the answers to those questions are a little bit scary. At least for me. I haven't quite honed in on the answers yet - I have a general idea of their shape and form, but not the specifics yet. I'm not quite sure yet how these answers are going to fit into my life (or how my life will change around them). But as scary as they seem to me right now, they also have that feeling of being good, being healthy, and being true. Im looking forward to seeing where they lead me. Thanks for helping to get me here when I needed you the most ❤️

I'm having a really hard week. One of the hardest I can remember having since back in the days of my mom being very sick and dying/grieving her death afterward. I've found myself in an unrecognizable headspace filled with anguish that feels like it will never end until it does, ebbing temporarily, until it flows back and threatens to drown me again. And it feels like when one thing resolves, another pops up in its place, even more formidable than the last. And none of these things are truly awful, but as much as I try to remind myself of that, in the moment, they feel legitimately suffocating. . Joe has been the most phenomenal support throughout this crappy, crappy week. I always feel unbelievably lucky to be married to him, but this week I'm feeling the deepest kind of gratitude. . While I'm drudging through this week, I'm trying to think back to a couple weekends ago when @mariellevchua came to visit. I work almost literally non-stop this time of year, and it was so nice to take a break from that to just connect, laugh and talk, relax and run around sightseeing. Trying to reclaim that good, wholesome feeling. Can't wait to share a few large format portraits I took of Marielle once I scan them in ❤️
I love Maine, but I've never been as far north as Boothbay Harbor... and once we got there, it treated me to what felt like several days in one! The weather went from foggy to sunny to hazy to a gorgeous pink sunset to heavy, chilly fog, and every second of it was stunning. Erin and Steven's wedding day was full of so much joy.
