Emily and Matthew, Engagement Session in Downtown Boston
Recently, I got to spend a weekend afternoon walking around Boston with Emily and Matthew. After a couple emails inquiring about photographing their 2014 wedding at the Omni Parker House, I knew I'd love these two!
Emily has moved around the country several times, eventually coming to the Boston Conservatory, where she studied ballet. She now teaches ballet, nannies, and dances professionally! Matthew grew up in Massachusetts, and is very close with his family and childhood friends. He majored in math and loves talking science with his family :)
Emily told me they love walking around the city, people watching in the Public Garden, making yummy fall baked goods, and trying out new restaurants together. From our emails, I knew we'd get along very well!
For their engagement session, we decided to walk around the public garden (amongst many extremely fat squirrels), Newbury Street, and over by the Charles. It was so much fun hanging out with these guys! They're fun, down to earth, and they're always making each other laugh :) We were lucky and managed to catch the last weekend of fall foliage, too! Anyway, it was easy to tell Emily and Matthew are a wonderful fit for each other. I can't wait to photograph their wedding next year!
Megan and Kyle, couples session in Cambridge
A couple of weeks ago, I decided to do a little drawing for a discounted a September couples session. I asked couples to enter by emailing me their stories. I got a bunch of great entries, and I loved reading through all of them! A few days later, I did the drawing, and Megan and Kyle were the lucky couple!
Megan and Kyle met back in 2011, while Megan was still in school in Boston. Unfortunately, Kyle was living in Western Massachusetts, working in a job he wasn’t happy with. After a year of long drives to see one another whenever they had a chance, they started trying to find Kyle a good job he could enjoy in the Boston area. After another long year of searching for the right job, he found one right outside of Boston! He moved earlier this year, and their relationship has been stronger than ever. Kyle loves his job, and Megan loves seeing him so happy. And of course, they love all the time they get to spend together now!
We met at Fresh Pond in Cambridge to walk around and take photos. Megan and Kyle were so sweet, and were always smiling, laughing, and joking with one another. It was so much fun to photograph! I love how clear their affection for one another is. :)
Kyle and Megan decided to go for a classic romantic dip... and the first one didn't go quite as planned. I couldn't help but include this gif. It was so funny! Megan was a good sport and let Kyle try again. Now that's trust, my friends ;)
